May 25th, 2021, Professor Deng Zibin, a researcher at the Institute of Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Director of the law branch of the library, Doctoral Supervisor, invited NanKai to give an academic lecture entitled “Due process and no penalty without a law”.
The lecture was hosted by Professor Liu Shixin, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law. Professor Yang Wenge, Associate Professor Gao Tong, Associate Professor Zou Bingjian, Dr. Kui Jia and more than 40 students attended this lecture.
Starting from the origin and development of a legally prescribed punishment for a specified crime, professor Deng explained the legal punishment for a specified crime and the due process of law. At the end of the lecture, Professor Liu issued a concluding statement and spoke highly of the format and content of the lecture.
He thanked Professor Deng for his excellent lecture to the faculty and students, and express his expectation for Professor Deng’s coming again at his convenience. The lecture ended with warm applause.
