On Apr. 26th, 2022, Tang Yingxia, the Associate Professor of the Law School, invited Dr. Wei Xiaoxu of the Jilin University Law School to give a lecture on the writing method of international law moot court pleadings. The theme of the lecture was "The Pen of the ‘Moot Court Mage’: Experience Sharing in Writing Lawsuit Pleadings".
This lecture told about the method of lawsuit writing from two aspects. The first was generality that is to explain from the whole of the simulated court competition. The second was concreteness that is to explain the specific content of book writing.
Wei Xiaoxu stressed that in terms of law, if applicable laws cannot be found, there would be suitable for exploration. Wei Xiaoxu combed the main points of pleading writing with the scoring tables of different international law moot courts as the starting point. He summarized the writing methods of the pleading writing form and encouraged the students. In his opinion, there is no best way to write books, only better, and there is no absolute right, only the most suitable one. Secondly, he believed that any method taken should be under the consideration of the specific reality and should not copy the methodology mechanically. Reasonably used in combination with the specific facts is necessary. Finally, he encouraged students to integrate knowledge with practice, practice more, and write actively to make progress.
The lecture was successfully held with nearly 80 teachers and students attending.Dr. Wei Xiaoxu has broad vision, profound theoretical foundation. He brought us brilliant lecture content with extensive references. The students said that the lecture provided a new method for writing legal papers and scientific research.
