On Sept.21st, 2022, Zhang Jingjing, Undergraduate Academic Affairs Secretary of the School of Law, gave a lecture to the freshmen of the Class of 2022 on the topic of course selection and academic planning with the title "How to Arrange Your Studies: Plan, Purpose and Efficiency". The lecture was hosted by Wei Huiling, counselor of the Law School.

In response to the hot issues of students' concern, Ms. Zhang firstly introduced the curriculum, course arrangement and course selection methods of the law major, starting with "how to choose a good course". After that, Ms. Zhang started from four aspects: "setting goals", "making lists", "learning skills" and "asking questions", and explained the main paths for students with different professional interests to develop learning goals and career plans. She said, "Choosing a course is just the first step of learning in college, but if you want to learn more efficiently, you have to do a good job of study planning." She combined her years of experience in academic affairs with her advice to students to "set a long term goal and always set a goal". To set a long-term, means setting directional goal from a holistic point of view, and to always set a goal means to learn to turn the whole into pieces, then fit them together to form multiple quantifiable and achievable stages.

During the interactive stage, teachers and students also exchanged views on the training program and the selection of teaching materials. Some of the attending freshmen of the Class of 2022 said, "Ms. Zhang used a mind map to visually help us understand what 'time points' and 'key matters' there are at the undergraduate level, which is very practical."
