On Sept. 8th, 2022, a lecture named "Integrity Education and Academic Research" as one of the entrance education was successfully held. The lecture was given by Law School Professor Tu Zhenyu and hosted by Mr. Ding Zhengkai, the counselor of 2022 master students. All Nankai University Law School 2022 master's students participated in the training online.
Prof. Tu took the introductory book of American law "What to Learn in Law School" as a guide and combined with the experience of visiting the University of Michigan Law School, elaborated the lecture from three aspects. First, "Collaboration----Building Personal Good Reputation". Second, "Strengthening Reading Training and to Cultivating Critical Reading Thinking". And the last one, " Attaching Great Importance to Concepts and Mastering Conceptual Analysis".
In the third aspect, Prof. Tu also pointed out that the formation of critical thinking would be effectively cultivated through active reading. He played a graphic cutting game with online students and combining the interpretation of the Ninth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution as an example to explain that. Finally, Prof. Tu pointed out the importance of conceptual analysis and encouraged every student to develop conceptual thinking. He advised the students to review it from time to time in their future postgraduate studies, which will greatly benefit to their academic level.
As the first lecture for 2022 LLM students, Professor Tu Zhenyu's detailed lecture was well received by the students, and so far the training session has come to an successfully end.
